PVD coatings are thin film coatings where a solid material is vaporized in a vacuum chamber and deposited onto a target material, in this case the stainless steel of the watch. It is used to change the surface properties of the object to be coated, where new mechanical, chemical, electrical or optical characteristics are needed. PVD watches are very durable, more resistant to scratches and aesthetically attractive and unique.
